******GTG at SUNKEN MEADOW PARK - TUESDAYS at 12pm!******
All Mommies and Babies and Kids! We set up on the beach at the first ramp that's left of the center one. Just look for other babies and mommies and most likely lots of umbrellas! There's plenty of room at the bottom of the ramp for strollers or do what I do, drag it on the beach!
Bring a blanket, umbrella, and lunch for you and baby! Be careful with what you bring! You have to carry it all the way to the beach! 
There is a concession stand with lunch, drinks and snacks if you want.
Dont forget sunblock! 
See you there!

I live so close to SM and I'm all for going there! I like Tuesdays b/c on Wed. I try to go to the BFing support group in Huntington.... But it doesn't really matter to me, whichever day you choose! I'll be there!

Okay, I was never there before, I plan on going with DH this weekend. Would it be like the arboretum where we would walk first, or should do more like a hangout and whoever wants to walk can do that. Thats the only thing that would affect the time that we should go. What do you think?

It's really nice. The boardwalk is 3/4 mi long so walking first might be nice. Afterwards, we can sit either on the beach or by the playground under a large tree (depending on the sun!) There's also a path that goes around the river - it's a little "off road" but nice!
I would suggest meeting at the playground first and walking to the boardwalk together. (There are 2 playgrounds, the one by the boardwalk is the best one to meet)

I agree. There are also really nice trails thru the woods but alot of them are sand. Not really stroller friendly, but if your baby likes going in a carrier or sling, its a great walk! They also have a giant picnic area which might be more convenient than hanging on the beach. It is easy to get to the picnic area from the boardwalk with a stroller.

Thank you! I forgot to add that. I plan on getting the Empire pass anyway though.

They take the empire pass, and most of us have it from going to the arboretum on Fridays

ITA, this sounds like a good idea, if some of the mommies prefer to stay at the picnic area. I would like to get on the beach after walking. I will bring my umbrella and PNP and get it from the car after the walk. I'm a beach bum

We would be interested as well! Either day /time is fine for us. Also just and FYI for those close by, after 4 during the week there is no fee to get in.
I would rather hit the boardwalk first and then the playround because once I hit the playground its going to be war to get DS off!
But I would totally be in for the beach as well!

Perfect! I was going to suggest 12 anyway b/c of Kenny's nap schedule!
Where will we be meeting? The playground?
For those of you who haven't been to SM, here's a little bit of info to help you: When you first enter, you'll see a playground and picnic area to your right. That's NOT the main playground. Keep going straight, over a little bridge, and keep going until you can't go any further. Enter the large parking lot and you'll see the playground off to the right. The boardwalk is behind the large brick building.
If you don't already have an Empire Pass, you'll pay $10 at the booth but be reimbursed when you buy the $65 pass at the office. The Empire Pass works at all State parks including the arboretum, Robert Moses, etc..... HTH!
