Photoshop Holiday Card Tutorial with Barb

No waitlist. It's a be there or be square invitation!  But please RSVP here and check the post for details, Q&A or any changes!
If you have a laptop with Photoshop installed, it would be helpful but not necessary for learning.
Barb uses CS3 but said Elements would be fine if you have it.
See you all for a fun night! Thanks again Barb! I'm hoping some of the experience girls will come too to help out!

Someone did one last year and I missed it last minute. I still have Photoshop and still do not have a clue how to use it! Maybe this year????   
I can host, I can cook, I can bake, I can pour... I cannot teach!!! But I want to learn Photoshop in a hands on kind of way!!! To make some tinyprints inspired cards! 
Any volunteers!? 
Anyone interested in learning (maybe they'll take pity on the volume of students)?

I know Photoshop well, and I used to teach. I'm just not sure how to teach computer based thing in a non-classroom. I guess I can do it.
I also don't know the kind of things people are interested in doing, because I used to mainly do marketing work, magazine ads, website designs, etc...
Maybe if someone show me the output of something they'd like to replicate? I can show them how. Its fun for me, but I like idea of working for cupcakes

I went to the class at Starbucks last spring...but definitely need a brush up. Would love to learn the basics of editing things out of pictures; inserting pics into different areas for cards/announcements, & such & the basics of creating cards (again Barb went over this, but totally need a brush up).

Yeah... that's the one I missed! Can anyone who went post a pic of something they were able to make after the lesson?
My goal is to start simple like adding some pics ontop of a cool background (wouldn't even know where to find all of those graphics, are they bought as software?) with cool borders and fun fonts.
I personally am looking to learn how to design a card or layout... not so much edit photos.

I would love to do this again as well. I went to the one Barbara had, and it was sooo informative, but at that point, I wasn't on photoshop much. I haven't even loaded it into my new comp, but would love too!
I am also interested in how to make cards...especially for the holidays!!!

Well as of now, including me and not including the two who offered to teach, there are 14 girls interested. I guess we'll give the post a chance to hit the morning crew and then start working on a date/location. I suppose it will ultimately be up to whomever teaches as to how many can attend. I know I can host 14 or more. I'm in East Islip, if that's good for you girls who can teach or if you'd rather it closer to you in a public place like Starbucks again. I don't know how the last one was organized so let me know. The only Starbucks I know do not seem 14+ people in a learning situation kind of size so that's why I offer my home.
Once things get squared away, I'll FM everyone directly so no one misses the posts and sign up.

I usually do the one in East Northport on Jericho Turnpike because it's close to me, is rather large & has couches.
If it's at someone's house, that's fine too.
The other thing is I'm on a different schedule so my train gets in later (7pm). Depending on where & when it is would be a factor for me.
I'd be thrilled to sit in as a student as well if someone else wants to teach.
