5th grade holiday party

I am hosting my sons holiday party for his school...I am struggling to come up with ideas of what to do..I was thinking holiday bingo , or holiday charades...does anyone else have any good ideas? I was thinking of snowman lollipops and candy, etc for prizes..I just really want it to be great and would love any suggestions! Thanks very much!

Hi Alicia,
You should post this on the teachers board, I know those girls over there will have tons of great suggestions for you. Great to see you aroundChat Icon

Re: 5th grade holiday party

I am a dance teacher so my two ideas would be a holiday dance contest and holiday freeze dance.

Re: 5th grade holiday party

hi... i teach 5th grade. our class moms are bringin in sugar cookies (not sure if they're backing them or if they'll be store bought) and trimming to decorate them... frosting, colored frosting, sprinkles, etc. etc. We are also doing hot cocoa and making snowflakes.

Re: 5th grade holiday party

Hey Alicia, good to see you around again....we're doing this w/ my PRe-K class, but I'm sure you'll have much better results w/ 5th if you try....decorate gingerbread houses....

We're using the tiny milk cartons they get in school & then I'm having them bring in store bought icing (mainly b/c we have limited time, but you could make the confectionate sugar icing) & then have them decorate w/ different candy, etc.

I know its 5th grade, but I'm sure musical chairs would still be a hit played to christmas songs

At dollar tree they have a bunch of little Christmas goodies 6 or 12 in a bag (for prizes for games)

I'll think of more....I want to see wedding pics too!!!

Re: 5th grade holiday party

The students can do a craft. They sell some kits in Michaels to make it easier or you can get creative. There are some websites online that can give you ideas. Or maybe you can do a pinata. They sell pull string ones now that are less messy and there is no hitting with a bat or anything.
