6 days late... BFN? Feeling stupid and confused.

So... I was due last saturday. this is my first month off the bcp. I know bc can throw you off completely and I feel like I would absolutely get a bfp this late if I was actually pregnant but everday that goes by makes me think, is it possible??? should I get a blood test??

I wont lie... I feel like a complete idiot getting a blood test with a BFN.

What would you do? I'm totally open to hearing "your not preggo get over it" I promise.

Its CD 33. I was due at CD28. What would you do?? Any advice is really appreciated.

Did you use an OPK this month, or were you tracking your CM to know when you O'ed?

If you are a week late, I would think at this point a HPT would be accurate. If in fact you did O later than you expected than it would be really early and an HPT wouldn't detect it, so I would wait several more days and test again if you don't get AF.

I definitely think your cycle could just be off a little bit.

My cycles are totally irregular and on the 33rd day of my cycle or so, I tested and got a BFN. I wasn't quite late, since my cycles go from 30-37 days. But I thought that since I got a BFN, then there was no way I was pregnant and I'd just have to wait for my period to come.

5 days later, I tested again. I thought "hey this will probably bring my stubborn period on! An hour after I test I bet it'll come."

Nope -- totally wrong -- that was when I got the BFP. The word shocked, did not begin to describe.

So until your period comes, anything is possible.

since its your first month off bcp i would just wait it out. my first cycle off the pill it was 44 days....so the same thing could be happening to your cycle.

if its your first cycle off BCP you wouldnt know when you are "due" for AF. BCP produces a hormonally regulated cycle, meaning your body isnt doing any of the work. once you are off, it takes time for the body to readjust and it could take several cycles before you know when AF is really due and how long your cycle really is. that being said chances are that you ovulated late, or maybe not even at all yet. i would wait at least two more weeks and just have fun. if you dont get AF by then call the doctor and they can check your hormone levels to see if you are ovulating or not.

It definitely can be your body adjusting after being off the BCP. Were your cycles regular before you went on BCP?

I just want to say though I get pg pretty quickly after stopping the pill (2 months actually). My cycle went back to normal right away so it's always possible your body didn't need to adjust.

I'm the minority here but for a couple dollars I may just test.

I never got AF the first cycle off BC. On day 89, my GYN prescribed provera to "jump start" my period. The next cycle was 85 days long. After that, it went down to 59 days, and then varied between 34 and 59 days pretty much every other month.

I was very irregular before going on the pill, though, so I wasn't surprised I was so irregular after going off it. While it's still possible to get PG right away, it's also not unheard of for it to take a few months to regulate after.

Wishing you the best! If you're concerned, there is no harm in seeing your doctor. They would have to give you a PG test anyway before they can proscribe you provera to kick-start your period anyway since you can't take it if you're PG. So either way you'd find out.

i'd wait out a few more days considering you just came off the pill. but if you dont have any signs within a few days i'd call your doc.
