6 month olds and naps
Anyone else's baby sleep the way DS does?? He still takes 4-5 naps per day and STTN as well. He does not nap as much during the week when he's in daycare, so is it safe to assume he's catching up on z's on the weekends? I think he is having another growth spurt too.

Re: 6 month olds and naps
DS is now sleeping through the nite..he's 7mo. from 8-5:30 am;
naps..thats a whole other ballgame. During the week he tends to catnap. he has taken 4 or 5 naps in a day..short ones at that. Then it seems on the weekend he will take fewer solid naps. I often wondered if it was him catching up on zzzzz's.

Re: 6 month olds and naps
At that age DS took two naps (an hour in the morning and two hours after lunch) and STTN. He was put on a schedule at daycare and pretty much stuck with it. At that age, I think that they nap still whenever they need it.

Re: 6 month olds and naps
Last month (when DS was 6 mo old), he transitioned from 3 naps to 2. Now he only takes 2 naps consistently. I read that around 3/4 mo they go from 4 naps to 3.... but that's what I've read.
I think as long as your LO is happy and not overtired, it's fine! You could always try to combine some of those naps into one by extending his waketime.

Re: 6 month olds and naps
DS was a great napper up until about 4 months old. He went from 3 2-3 hour naps a day to 4 30 minute naps a day. If I am lucky...Now he is 7 months old and he is teething so bad. Just this past week I have been bringing him into my bed and letting him nap there. Now he takes at least one 1.5-2 hour nap a day. He is on nap number 3 right now and he has been sleeping for an hour. I hope it doesn't create a problem later down the road. But for now it works...
