6-Year-Old Bully: Teacher Instructs Students to Line Up and Take a Shot
A 6-year-old bully was made to sit in front of a classroom full of his peers while the students lined up to hit him, according to The San Antonio Express-News. After being labeled as a “bully” by his teacher, the child was taken to another classroom, at which point the kids were encouraged to repeatedly strike the alleged troublemaker.
By the time everything was said and done, at least 24 students had taken shots at the child, who, according to his mother, has experience “emotional trauma” as a result of the incident.
Reports indicate that the first teacher, curious as to how she should deal with a potential bully, asked one of her fellow educators for advice. After separating the 6-year-old from his class, “the second teacher took Aiden into her kindergarten classroom and told her students to hit him in order to ‘teach him why bullying is bad, instructing them to ‘Hit him!’ and ‘Hit him harder.’”
According to his boy’s mother, Amy Neely, her son’s friends were also instructed to hit the child, many of whom were “too afraid” not to hit him. Although Adrien Neely told his mom that all 24 students slapped him, police reports suggest that only six or seven children performed the act.
“This kind of activity just can’t go on,” district spokesman Steve Linscomb explained. “This teacher is a relatively young teacher and just needed to be re-educated and reminded what needs to happen in the classroom in order for it to be a safe learning environment.”
The first teacher has been placed on paid leave, though she will be allowed to return to the school next fall. The second teacher, however, has been fired from her position. According to KARE 11, police are filing charges of official oppression against both individuals.

Ummm WHAT???? 
That is crazy! What kind of message does that send? I am all about cracking down on bullying but this was not the way to go about it.
If this bully has any issues this incident didn't help any. Plus, it could have caused issues for the other children who were forced to partake and "hit him" because they were to scared not to listen to the teacher.
I'm also  that the teacher got paid leave - pretty much a slap on the wrist for orchestrating this incident. She should be stripped of everything for this.
You're talking about a 6 year old child - regardless of what he has done; you don't set him up as a punching bag to teach him a lesson. WTF is wrong with you???

The teacher that told the kids to hit him was fired. His teacher, the 2nd grade teacher, was put on paid leave. She supposedly just brought him to the K teacher for help. It is unclear if she knew what the plan was.

I'm glad she was fired. That's horrible! Bullying needs to be dealt with, yes, but how could any educator think that's a good option??

I'm not condoning what they did in any way shape or form, BUT when my parents went to school this would not have made headlines. In fact if my dad came home and said the teacher called him a bully and let the other kids pick on him instead he would have gotten a second ass kicking bc that's just how it was done. I feel that people coddle kids too much these days to be honest, and while this type of "lesson" isn't what I would do I certainly think the mother should look into WHY her kid was treated this way and perhaps figure out if indeed he was picking and bullying other kids.

Sooo....the way to deal with a bully is by encouraging bullying and physical violence? What a good example this teacher was setting 
I am all for zero tolerance on bullying but this was NOT the way to go about it.

I wonder if the suggestion to hit the bully was a joke taken wayyyyy out of context. No responsible adult could take that seriously and act on it!

Ok, bullies are a-holes but  seriously? Sometimes I can't even process what I read about things that educators do. Like it's so insane I can't believe a real person would actually do it.

WOW!
and hot diggity its here in SA  I hadn't even heard of this! That is disturbing!
We have only one Major paper here. Express News and I can't find a link to the story anywhere. I am curious about the school district (obviously because I live here)
ETA: Got it Judson ISD. Interesting. That school district used to be all the rage decade or so ago. Then it just got into a LOT of trouble with kids hazing and bullying.

This is true.
I went to a Catholic School for a year (in VA). I was sad that no one played with me. I was new and young and scared. So they put me in the front of the room and had them say nice things to me. I felt WORSE! Then later I pushed a kid who pushed me, so they lined up again because physical 'violence' wasn't allowed, even tho I wasn't the first swing. This time they lined them up to spit on me. Nun was a meanie! 
My father got slapped on the wrist with a ruler for speaking English with a Spanish accent then told to stand in a corner and repeat everything in prefect English.
Times have changed. Still don't agree with this teacher's choice of HITTING him. But yes, I would wonder what my kid did to get to that point.
