SPR - Crafty people: can I spray paint this?
We bought this toy chest for DS's room and we want to move it to the play room but it clashes big time.
I want to paint the red part white. I'm not crafty AT ALL.
Do you think I can do it? What type of paint?
Any suggestions appreciated! I've never tried anything like this before!!

Yes, I would go to Home Depot and get one that is lead free and if made to adhere to plastic, I beleive rustoleum makes one.
(my mother in law says you can paint anything if you use the right product and prepare it appropriately)

Honestly I would not paint a plastic item for a child's room. It WILL chip and no paint is guaranteed lead free. In addition, it will scratch up so quickly it will look like a mess too soon.

I don't think I would paint that type of plastic toy. Not that I have another option for you..lol...I just wouldn't attempt to paint that. It will chip, make a mess, etc...

The Little Tikes Care & Maintenance FAQ actually says not to paint their products because "paint will not adhere" and it "could damage the polymer structure."...but people have done all sorts of things to pimp out a cozy coupe and stuff, so it can be done.

Thank you all so much! It worked out a bit - I'm going to swap with a friend of mine. It works out perfectly because hers is the one I want and she's looking for this one! Thanks LIF and FB!
This is the one we're getting. It's perfect for the play room!
