i am assuimg gemelli's is italian? and what about the argyle grill and carriage house? also, what would you say it costs (estimate)for 2 to eat there, with an app, desserts and a drink or two each?

Gemelli's is italian. Argyle and Carriage House are eclectic. The Argyle and the Carriage House both have nice bar areas. I would say, for apps, dinner and a couple of drinks, it would run approximately $100 at all 3 places. The Carriage House has an awesome price fix dinner special during the week. Its $24.95 a person and it's pretty much their entire menu - an app, dinnner and dessert. We went on Thursday and it was delish.

I was just at Gemelli's 2 weeks ago and I was not impressed. I think it used to be better a few years ago. There isn't a whole lot on the menu and my food was just ok. I went with my mom and she wasn't thrilled w/ her dinner either.
The Argyle is good--I go there often. Dinner for 2, assuming drinks, an app, and entrees, will be around $100 +
Barrique is not what it used to be and it's only been open a short time. It's very loud and the tables are very close together so it's hard to hear each other. I don't mind the noise but some people might. I love their food but their service has been horrendous lately. The food is mostly tapas and are small so they would have to order a few items, not just 2. With wine or drinks, an app, and entrees, it will also be around $100 +
If they like sushi or Japanese food, Sakura is great. I much prefer it to Kotobuki. Sakura is super reasonable and the service is awesome. I go there weekly. Dinner for 2, including drinks, will be around $50+ (depending on your order--sushi, entrees, etc.)
There's also Lucy's but I haven't been there since it was taken over by a new owner so no comments on that.
Carriage House is good too...have only been once or twice though so no definite opinion.
Horace & Sylvia's is nice too...and the biscuits are delicious Around $100 also.

We recently ate at Gemellis and found the food to be fabulous!
We also really enjoy Carriage House but have found the service to be not so hot.
Both of these places are fairly expensive, I would say $150 check for 2 ppl, app/drinks/meal/dessert.
Another place we like is Armadillos, cheaper, cold beers like tex mex cuisine.
I'm not really a fan of Argyle.

They just opened a La Famiglia in the village. It is very good. We went the first week it opened. There is one also in Plainview.

I guess it would be considered American cuisine. I like it in there a lot. It's a pub type of feel to it but the food is very good.
