Jogging stroller violently shaking while running?
I have a Baby Trend Expedition jogger and while I'm running with it, it will begin to violently shake to the point where I'm scared that the wheels will fall off.
Has this happened to anyone and how do I fix it? It's cramping my style!

Re: Jogging stroller violently shaking while running?
Hmmm...I have never had that happen! Could the wheels need to be tightened??

Yes - I run in my neighborhood (lots of corners) and don't keep the front locked. Is that what's causing it?

Re: Jogging stroller violently shaking while running?
Sorry, but at the cramping your style!
Um, yeah, that doesn't sound normal! I would take it to a bike shop and see if it needs to be tightened.

I am in the market for a new double stroller and have been doing a lot of research... Yes I think thats it!

Dude - I have to look cool, calm, and collected in front of the dozens of workers that are in my neighborhood every morning running gas lines and doing street work! It's hard to do while I'm trying to control my stroller like a spaz.

Sorry for crashing your post V, but thanks Julie-I just started using this stroller as well and now I know I must keep the front wheel locked!

So Julie - I'm a complete beginner. How do I navigate the turns and stuff in the neighborhood with the wheel locked?

i am not Julie LOL and i don't have that stroller-i have the Baby Jogger Twinner and the wheel is stationary in the front. when i turn corners, i slow up a bit and tip the stroller back and up and turn the corner. it's annoying but it works. but maybe there is a better way?

My double and triple are fixed wheels. push down on the handle bars to lift the front wheel while you turn. For my triple its too heavy for me to do that, I have to lift the back wheels. You will get used to it.

Re: Jogging stroller violently shaking while running?
I never lock my front wheel (I run around my neighborhood too, so lots of corners), and I have never had a problem with the stroller shaking...different brand of stroller though.

Pfffftttttt
Maybe it *is* me?
I'll try locking the front wheel tomorrow morning and give everyone a much-anticipated update.

Yeah, basically you just have to tilt the stroller back so that you just slightly lift the front wheel off the ground and turn the stroller whichever way you want to go. It's pretty simple. I have a fixed wheel jogger and never have any problems manuevering

Yes, you want to look smooth when you do this. Keep me posted on how it goes. Maybe we can jog together and both look cool.

Re: Jogging stroller violently shaking while running?
To add to the post, I lock my front wheel and push down on the handlebar like Julz does. I saw a few women in my neighborhood do the same thing before I started running, so I just copied what they did

same stroller here
mine does the same if I try to run with it with the wheel on swivel mode..I can only run when it is locked...and I also just push on the handle bar ever so slightly when I have to make a turn!

Re: Jogging stroller violently shaking while running?
You MUST lock your front wheel to job with a jogging stroller for safety reasons.
You have to tilt it to run. It's a bit weird but that's the safest way to do it.
My manual said to lock my stroller's front wheel to run. Not that I EVER run!!!

Re: Jogging stroller violently shaking while running?
I always lock the front wheels to jog. Turn's do take a little while to get used to, you just have to put a little more pressure and tilt it slightly to one side. once you do it a few times it becomes like second nature.
