6th graders hugging in the hallway

Is it an epidemic? Girls hug both boys and girls. I know that they have reached a very social age and I guess hugging is better than punching but I don't think 11 year old boy girl hugs are appropriate. When I ask the happy couple to stop I'm sometimes given the gas face. How are these PDAs handled in your school?

I teach high school and usually tell the students to move it along. Usually they do not give me any problems.
