7 8 and 9 year old boy holiday gifts

As my kids are getting older they have more expensive holiday presents on their wish lists. What do you do? Do you increase the budget? Only get them one pricier gift?

What are good gifts for this age range?
Legos
Snap circuits
Science kits
Books
And sports equipment we have plenty of....

Mine want x-box (I have a 7 and 9 yr old). So that will be the big gift and then they will ask for new games - makes gift buying easier. Other than that asking for legos since the new catalog came in the mail. They are big into soccer jerseys and havea few on their list. Nothing else really. The 9 year old asked for an ipad but I said no way to that.

Re: 7 8 and 9 year old boy holiday gifts

my son LOVES his snap circuits....

He wants
xbox
minecraft
books
remote control helicopter/plane/car etc (who knows which he picked out)
Jenga Boom (he loves board games!)
Snap Circuits Light
New Bike
Fishing equipment

ETA: yes I have increased his budget. When he was little $200 got him a ton, now htat wont even cover 1 gift! LOL

Mine are 7 and 9. They definitely get fewer gifts now that the things they want are more expensive. They are asking for a bunch of Xbox games. They also want electric scooters this year. Younger ds wants beatz headphones since older ds got them last year. We have a lot of sports equipment but it always seems like they need something. They both ski/snowboard so they will get some gear and accessories. Aside from that- maybe a few board games/books. Last year we got a foosball table - that was a great gift and they love it.

oh my son would love that. He has a big binder. I think he would be thrilled with more cards. Thanks for that idea.

Ah we are a playstation family. We already have a ps4. Maybe a game for it would be a good idea. Thanks for the idea.

Re: 7 8 and 9 year old boy holiday gifts

My 8 year old now knows there's no Santa, so he knows that he can't/won't get all the things in his list because they're big ticket items. He will probably get an iPad mini (I'm assuming someone will have a decent sale on them), some cards, a soccer jersey, and some board games. And we also celebrate Chanukah so he'll probably get smaller things like books and puzzles, an action figure or two, a science kit or things like that.

I wanted to add an idea to this thread, the toy is called plus plus. We got a small bag of the mini ones in a goody bag and my kids can't get enough of them.
