7cm Complex Ovarian Cyst... Cross post !!!!!

I wanted to post this here too since we are actively TTC... I went to the ER yesterday with severe pain in my belly and it turns out that I have this "HUGE" ( the words of the Dr) cyst on my left Ovary ...

I am so scared that not only will it be cancerous since it is so big but also that it will hurt my chances even more of getting pregnant.... And with my age ( I am 35) and the fact that we've been trying for almost a year and nothing is happening I am really scared that I won't be able to ever get pregnant again .. I have an appointment with my OB tommorrow so I guess we'll see, but does anyone have any experience with a cyst this size...?????? And if so did it complicate your ability while TTC....

I had a large ovarian cyst in HS. I think it was about the size of an orange! I was taken out of gym for the rest of the year for fear it might rupture, and was told it would either go away on its own or they would remove it laproscopically. It ended up rupturing on its own (extreme pain for 10 seconds then it was done) and when I went back for a followup they said I had another small one. They put me on the pill to keep them from forming. I was on the pill for 10 years and conceived the first month off. So, dont assume the worst, it could just be a cyst, and they are supposedly very common! Also doesnt necessarily mean it will affect your fertility!

I had a HUGE cyst when I was 20. They wanted to remove it and told me it was possible I would lose part of my ovary and they were also concerned it was cancerous..YIKES. Anyway I went for a second opinion, that GYN put me on BC and it went away on it's own and didn't affect my fertility

Thanks guys .... I am definitely trying not to think the worst !!! Hopefully I'll have answers later , and I wll let everyone know!

I am also in my TWW right now ! and should have gottne my AF on Sunday ... So I'm wondering wether this is delaying my AF or if it could be something else !!!! Of course they tested me on Monday at the hospital and it was neg but that could be because it was 2 early ....

Holding out hope !

SO I ended up having ot go for emergency surgery on Friday .. Because of the size of the cyst and that it was complex, and the pain it was giving me, they decided to send me right to have it removed. Ill have the biopsy results on Friday when I go in for my follow up...

Recovery is rough. The incision that they made was a little bigger than when I had laproscopy being as they only made one through my belly button and I assume because of the size of the cyst. They were able to save my ovary too, which I'm vrey happy about .. Hopefully all of this was worth it .. I did end up getting my AF yesterday in full force on top of trying to recover from the surgery .. ( SO much fun) ...

So onto next month !!! Hopefully this fiasco won't throw off my cycle too ,much !
