8 month old throwing up! What could it be?
DD has had a cold all week. The daycare sent her home early Monday with the possibility of pink eye. DH took her right to the Ped and they confirmed it was. We started the eye drops and I stayed home with her on Tues.
Brought her to daycare Wed. and since then they have been mentioning that DD threw up a little of her food. They said it happened when she was coughing, so I didn't think too much of it . . .until last night and this morning!
She threw up EVERYTHING!!! EVERYWHERE! I don't know if this is normal with colds and mucus, but this morning she didnt cough, she just started making a face like she was gagging, (I instantly thought choking) I picked her up and put her on my shoulder and she threw up everything I gave her. Oatmeal and pears. Then on the way upstairs she threw up 3 more times down my shirt. I just gave her a bath.
Has anyone else had this happen? What should I do? I do plan on calling the Ped. but wanted to hear if this happened to anyone else.

Ryan does this too. He gets such a huge build up of mucus, plug I think he has a very prominent gag relex which doesn't help. I think as long as she has no fever, it's probably nothing to really worry about. Try sucking out her nose as much as possible. I bought one of the battery operated aspirators and it seems to help reach the mucus that is stuck at the back of his throat.

I will give that a try. No fever, and she isn't fussy. Just puking A LOT!

Re: 8 month old throwing up! What could it be?
Hi, I don't really post much, but I just went through the exact thing with my 8 month old. She looked really weird to me last week so I brought her to the E.R. and they did some tests. They told me she had a bad cold and I would get the results of her urine test in a few days. The doctor called me 2 days later and said she had the flu. Nothing they could really do about it, but at least I knew it wasn't just a cold. She's totally fine now, but had the same symptoms as your D.C.
