8 week sono/ heartbeat?
I notice a lot of you mention the rate of your baby's heartbeat. We were able to see a heartbeat at my 8 week sono but my Dr. didn't mention how fast it was or anything like that to me. Is that weird? Should I be concerned?

nope dont be concerned.. with my dd i never knew heartrate.. my sis would ask all the time what it was.. i had no clue.. never remembered to ask.. same with this pregnancy. Im 23 weeks and still dont have a clue. I hear it during appointments and thats all that matters to me.

Dont worry.. im sure if theres anything to be concerned with your doctor would tell you straight out.

I always hear girls on here quoting numbers and my obgyn office never quotes me any numbers except telling me everything is "normal" or "fine".
At my 8 wks, we saw this super fast beating heart. No numbers quoted.
I wouldn't be concerned if I were you.

My doc didn't start telling me the rate until she started using the doppler at my 12wk appt. No worries!

When I had the sono, I asked the tech what the heartrate was. I wouldn't worry about not being told the actual number.

My doctor didn't start telling me the number until 16 weeks. He still doesn't tell me the number unless I ask. He just says "sounds good". Don't stress it!

They told me the hb at 8 weeks, but I definitely wouldn't be concerned if you didnt get a number. The sono tech didnt let us actually hear the hb until 12 weeks.

I think I know the hearbeat since we are at an RE. They are a little more thourough with the information sharing. ANd my sono was an internal one. 8 weeks is a little early to hear the heartbeat with an external doppler.
I wouldn't worry.

I heard the HB at 8 weeks and the doctor told me the rate. THey usually tell me, but if they forget, I always ask. I work in the medical field, so I like to know. DOn't be concerned if they didn't tell you. If there was a problem, they would let you know. Next time, just ask them.

I have never been told the baby's heart rate. We found out for the first time this past weekend when I was being monitored at the hospital (I had felt a decrease in movement). I was curious to know-- because of the old wives gender prediction, but I always forgot to ask at the doc when we listened.
