80TH Birthday Party Centerpiece
We are having a 80th birthday party for my grandmother and I am in charge of the centerpieces. Can any one suggest a unique centerpiece for me? I am crafty, but I am having a mental block.
TIA Stacey

Re: 80TH Birthday Party Centerpiece
Charles Lindburgh made the first non-stop solo flight Trans Atlantic from NY to Paris that year. Maybe you can do something around that?
ETA: If he was born in 1927, that is...that was the year of the Charles Lindburgh thing...it was a HUGE deal...Lindburgh was on the cover of Time as the man of the year that year because of it.

hmm....maybe the frontpage of the newspaper the day she was born -- i'm sure you can order them on line somewhere --
you can paste it on to a storyboard w/ a stick and use styrafoam aas the base...
or do pictures of your grandma the same way

Re: 80TH Birthday Party Centerpiece
Lots of the card stores sell those year born cards that are like a booklet with all the birthyear info in it.
You could put the pages on sticks in a floral centerpiece maybe.

Re: 80TH Birthday Party Centerpiece
How many tables are there going to be?
If you have 8 tables, you can feature a picture of your grandmother from each decade of her life under a title of "The "20's"; The "30's"; etc. Mount the pics to a foam board (about the an 81/2 x 11 size- you'll have to cut the boards down to size) and decorate around the pics with related embellishment stickers sold at Michael's in the Scrapbooking aisle! Then stand the foam board in a plate stand. That would look so pretty!!
