potty training frustrations

I have been working on potty training my almost 3 year old for 2 months, almost 3. He is in daycare and wears under ware there and pull ups at nap time. He has been doing well, but needs to be told to go potty he has only on accession initiated it himself. He has pooped a few times in the potty as well. Most of his accidents are poop ones, sometimes when he is busy with stuff he has pee ones. At home it is difficult for us to get him to go potty, he is better at daycare. He alot of times will fight us about going. I made a huge potty chart so he can see it and put stickers on it. When he goes potty he gets to put on a sticker and he gets more for poops. When he gets a certain amount he gets a bigger prize. He just does not seem to get the "feeling" to go and always needs to be told to go. Does anyone have advice? How did they help with getting them to learn to go on their own? What was your process? Am I missing something?
thanks

i second this but i would wait a little longer, it may click soon. almost 3 is still young especially for a boy

that being said i gave my son until 3.5 & it became a power struggle so i did the 3 day method the weekend he tuned 3 1/2 & he was trained in a day! we had maybe 5 accidents!

good luck!!
