9-10 month old vacation ideas ....
Where would you take a 9-10 month old on vacation? DH is convinced that going on vacation is a bad idea since DS will be young. I think its the perfect time, since he is still stroller bound. Obviously it would be a differnt vacation than we're used to, but I think it's possible that DS will sit in a restaurant for breakfast & early dinner ... help me convince DH this is a GOOD thing. I need a vacation!

I'd pretty much take my girls anywhere at that age. In our case, we went to the Outer Banks the past 2 years and will go again (and our girls are 2.5 years and 11 mos. currently). At 9-10 mos. I don't think you have to worry about entertaining them--they just enjoy seeing the sights really. As far as dinner...my girls come with us anywhere. What's the worst that can happen...you have to walk out early? Whatever your plans are...go for it!!

That is what I am saying. I think he's afraid of all the baggage that travels with DS these days, LOL. I threw out ideas in Florida, the Poconos, Mexico (out of the country was quickly vetoed!), Rhode Island, etc ... DS is such a GOOD baby, I don't see a problem at all.

Oh, now is totally the BEST time!! I wish I went more when Lily was that age. We went to Hilton Head when she was 6 months and it was great. Every restaurant was family friendly. We all had a really nice time. If you want more drive-able, I have always loved Montauk. Mystic sounds nice too (but I've never been.) You might want to skip the Borgata this time though. I had a blast there for the bachelorette, but not so kid friendly. Seriously, tell DH that this really is the best time. We're talking about vacation plans now and I'm dreading it with Lily on the move. DH told me he doesn't even want to try going anywhere. It's exhausting chasing after her.

Re: 9-10 month old vacation ideas ....
We went on a cruise in December when DS was 7 mths old. We left from the port in Bayonne,NJ, so we didn't have to worry about flying and having too much luggage. It was cramped in the cabin, but there were plenty of places to to play on the ship. We got a balcony so that after DS went to bed we could go out there and have a glass of wine before bed. It went so well that we have another cruise booked for next Dec.

We also went on a cruise. DS was 9mo and it was fantastic! We left out of Brooklyn so we didn't have to fly. We got a mini suite so we could have extra room for DS to "run" around. He fell asleep during appetizers every night so we just put him in his PJs and he fell asleep in his stroller. I loved it and so did he

There definitely is lots of stuff that comes with traveling with a baby, but it's really not that bad. Maybe a drive-able vacation would be better for DH then (it's so much easier to pack up the car than to fly with so much stuff) or go to a very family friendly place where they'll have some of the stuff you need. Beth (Bxgell) has recommended Club Med Sandpiper in FL. My parents live 10 minutes from there. My mom went to check it out one day and raved about it too.
Good luck convincing DH. It will be so much fun if you can talk him into it.
