9 month old hates bathtime

Anyone else? He would tolerate it and actually would splash and stuff but now he just screams and will not sit down. We started using just the regular tub about a month or so ago because he got to big for the infant tub. Do you think that could be the problem? We tried that yellow duck tub and he just tried to climb out of it. Any suggestions would be appriciated. I hate that he hates it :(

Maybe try putting a towel in the bottom of the tub or something so he can sit on something other than the tub bottom. My mom gives her a bath in their sink & she loves it, yet one time she forgot to put the towel down & she flipped out & refused to sit.

I think in the infant tubs it has that non-slip bottom which makes them feel secure.

Does he seem scared or anxious?

My son LOVES the bathtub and freaks out when we try to get him out..so Im curious why he would hate it.

Did he always dislike it?

He has toys and stuff to play with?

Lucas started having a problem with the bath at around 10 months. It happened overnight and now he hates to be in it. The moment we put him in he stands up screaming with his arms out to be picked up.

From what I read it's a phase that some kids go through (not all) and it seems to be something that happens overnight...one day they love it and the next they are terrified.

We keep giving him a bath this way and just try to do it quickly. He calms down the minute he's out and we know he's not afraid of water since he will shower with DH and drink the water from the shower head.

I am hoping that it gets better....soon. I miss our bathtime fun.
