A/C or fan in the baby's room?
Now that I have like, days to finish the nursery I am realising that I have a lot of little things that I overlooked.
Should I put the small a/c back in the baby's room, or is it better to put the 2 way window fan in?
TIA

Re: A/C or fan in the baby's room?
I would do an A/C. We are having a fall baby but I know for the next summer an A/C will be in the Nursery.

I have central air, I would do the a/c. I wouldn't want baby to get too warm at night, who can sleep when they are sweating!

I'm going with A/C.
From what I've read about SIDS, a cool room is way safer than a hot room.

Re: A/C or fan in the baby's room?
We have no choice.
The windows in that room are oddly shaped and won't hold an a/c unless it's custom installed (mucho dinero).
So we're going to do the fan thing.
If it gets really hot we will have an AC in our bedroom and the baby will sleep in the Pack in Play in our room.

Re: A/C or fan in the baby's room?
I would definitely do the AC since you can adjust the temperature to a comfortable level. I hate having the fan blowing on me...I just can't stand it...I feel like it gets me sick everytime it blows on me so I would never put it in the baby's room.

We had A/C put into the wall. Our windows are odds.

I would do an A/C too. You can control the temp and for sids a cooler room is better than a hot one - you can always dress the baby a little warmer.

DH and I just discussed this last night and this is exactly what I told him

Re: A/C or fan in the baby's room?
Unfortunately we will have to do a fan as well. Our landlord had the baby's room as their dining room and it has no door. The balcony door is there but I won't leave it open all night (for safety reasons). The A/C in the living room cools down the living room and kitchen area and we were told it would do the baby's room also..but I'm not too sure about that. Worse case..if it gets too hot..we will put her with us. Kind of glad she's coming in August..because there won't be too much left of the heat to deal with..but ya never know.

DH was afraid that the a/c might make the baby sick. Thanks gals....I will have him bust it out of the attic tonight so I can clean it.

Re: A/C or fan in the baby's room?
We're going to do an air conditioner in the room...and we have the strangest reason! Our neighbors have a voleyball court in their yard and they play really loud volleyball games until 11 at night on the weekends. The court faces the baby's room, so we're thinking the AC will block out the noise of the screaming and cursing.

We already have a/c in the room. We did install a ceiling fan, which I will probably use more often...

We are doing a ceiling fan and probably an A/C next summer since the baby will be here in the fall.

We have central air - but I would do an AC to keep the room nice and cool!

Re: A/C or fan in the baby's room?
Do an A/C and get yourself a wireless thermometer that you can check from outside the room so you don't have to worry that it got too cold.

We have central air...the ceiling fans in our other rooms seem to bother Taylor, but she looves to stare at it!

a/c, but try not to put the crib or bassinet to close! Baby will be getting sniffles.

I was thinking the same thing. I already have both so I don't know I don't want the baby to be too hot or too cold.

we have a ceiling fan and a window A/C. Last summer I didn't put the A/C in right away and it got hot quick and she DID NOT SLEEP until we put it in!
