A change for me...
No, I'm not pregnant. 
I just quit my job to be a full time student.  It's such a crazy mix of feelings- happy that I will finish my degree before I am eligible for social security, sad because I have been at this job for 8 1/2 years and my coworkers have really become like family, relieved that I don't have to juggle a full time work/school schedule, and incredibly grateful that I even have this option available to me in this crap economy.
My last day is August 20th- I wanted to give them a lot of notice so the transition will be a smoother one.

Well then I will say I'm sorry and congratulations! So if you're going full time, when is the finish line? I'm glad you're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

That is SOOOOO awesome. I'm seriously considering the same move but there's just so much to consider, I'm not sure I can do it.
I mean financially, I most likely could. At least it seems I can on paper, but I just don't know if I have the balls to quit my job.
Are you working at all, like part time? I don't think I could out right quit and just go to school. I still have bills to pay but I think a PT job would cover it.
What are you going to school for?

Hey Jennie!  I'm going for International Business, with Spanish as my minor.
I hadn't planned on working for this semester, just to be able to adjust to the mindset of being a FT student. I've worked since I was 14, so this a huge chnage for me. Buuut- I told my company that I'd be available 1 day a week if they needed me. They're going through some changes too, and I think I can swing a day per week until they get comfortable with my replacements. So we will see how that goes.
I absolutely understand about the balls part. I almost threw up on my boss when I told him.
What are you going back to school for?

I quit my job 2 years ago to do this & I have 1 1/2 years to go! I can honestly say its the best thing I ever did for myself. Good luck!

I'm looking to go back for my BFA in graphic design.
Sad but true, it took me until the age of 32 to figure out what I'd like to be when I grow up.
