she just reminds me of an older Anne Hathaway. similar features, I think. Anyway, she's pretty.

I completely agree, thought I was the only one who noticed this.

My two cents : it is one one thing to say you don't find someone stunning or your absolute physical ideal. However, it is somewhat detached from reality to say that a beautifully groomed, well dressed women in excellent shape isn't attractive. If she was on the street almost anywhere in the world she would be amongst the best looking women there. Remember that a majority of people are overweight to obese, poorly groomed and not very well-dressed. Based on that, almost any public figure / celebrity is going to be attractive. In fact, I can think of very, very few who aren't. So, my issue is one of semantics. While it is fine to say that you don't think someone is miss universe level beautiful , I think it is borderline irrational to deny that she or someone of comparable appearance is attractive.

I respectfully disagree. As someone who worked in the entertainment industry surrounded by these type of people that were beautifully groomed, well dressed and in excellent shape. There were some that still were not attractive. And the public thought so as well when they met them IN PERSON vs pictures in magazines that were photoshopped to death.

. Not attractive as compared to the average person or to people in Hollywood ?

Not attractive to the public who was sopposed to be buying the product which is people like you, me, general public----its bad when you're groomed to be the next big thing and people . Even with the best make up, clothes, etc..they just didnt captivate when the public is saying saying-oh Im prettier than her. It just didnt get to the wow as compared to celebrity or to regular people period. So they have to be marketed differently sadly.

This woman is THE Superhero of women everywhere.

She's well educated, brilliant, has an exceptionally successful career, she is respected all over the world - NOT as an actor's wife - as an attorney, as an activist, as HERSELF -

She is ALSO tall, and thin has amazing hair and a perfect sense of style -

HOW does anyone find anything negative to say about her?

I was trying to refrain from this thread cause as usual the fun got sucked out of it. However, to say she is the superwoman of woman is a stretch for "ME". This woman is not relateable to me at all. Not the idol of all woman and someone I would look up to as this super hero.

It's great that she is brilliant and I can appreciate her and applaud her for that. But she is very thin and lanky, she reminds me of Olive Oil. I wouldn't stop dead in my tracks if I saw and remark on how gorgeous and flawless she is. I would probably appreciate talking with her maybe since she is so brilliant as everyone keeps saying. Even though I met very smart people who when conversating with them turned out to be assh0les and lack common sense. So your awesome resume doesn't necessarily say you have a great personality. But I don't follow her or have seen any interviews on her so, I don't know who she is really.

I think it's ok to not think she is pretty or not think she is this God of a woman. Plus what's her background, I'm assuming great wealthy family upbringing? Again not relateable.

I can't think of more than a handful of famous actresses ,performers, models, entertainers etc who aren't at least attractive compared to the average person. I don't mean photoshopped ,just in regular pictures from the red carpet etc.

I'm just curious to the people who think she's not attractive . . . Do you see what the average person walking down the street looks like? Even if you don't find her to be exceptionally beautiful, to say she's not pretty or not attractive just sounds ridiculous IMO. Clearly she's above average, to say the least. I don't see how you can honestly dispute that.

If you call her ugly, then I'd love to hear what you call the average person.

This thread is utterly absurd. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon God forbid anyone should have a difference of opinion on here.

I totally agree. Compared to most of the "average" people she is pretty and very attractive.

IMO most everyone can be attractive if they dress well and keep themselves up (make up, hair, body, etc). Doesn't mean they are naturally beautiful but with work they are attractive. How many people actually put a lot of effort into their appearances all the time? Judging by what I see around me very few.

At the very least she is attractive. IMO she is also pretty..not the most beautiful thing in the whole wide world but definitely above average in the looks department.

Whoa.

I had to go back and double check and this is my only other post regarding this:

"I think she's very pretty, she has a unique look."

I'm not aware of myself hounding anyone on this. I really don't care if you find her attractive or not. The whole point of this board, I thought, was to share opinions. I'm of the opinion that to call a celeb unattractive when I think it's pretty clear that they're not is silly.

Does that mean that I care what you think or that I'm getting my panties in a bunch over it? Nope! Just saying it sounds ridiculous to me and I'm honestly asking what you call the average person. I'm not sure why you think I care so though. . .

In my old world before I became a SAHM I saw them before they became hot. Saw them groomed, saw most fail because they didn't have "it" and "it" wasn't only talent. I guess it's hard to explain.

It's all personal preference. It's one thing to say she's uneducated etc but looks are different. It's Like saying..Wow Gisele is so beautiful yet some would say no, she's too bony, has a gap in her teeth etc. Her look isn't for everyone. Life goes on.

I think it's because
1 - she isn't a celebrity but married to one
2- she's a very intelligent, well-spoken human rights lawyer so people are judging her based on other parts of her that they find more valuable.

I commented about Maya Angelou, Madeleine Albright, etc because I wanted to point out that she is in the same category as them in my book - powerful, intelligent women making a difference. But also in my book, I do think she's very pretty. I'm surprised that people think otherwise. I don't care that they think she's ugly.

I find with the men we're less likely to be as brutal or critical. Heck, just look at the number of thread for male celebs vs female celebs. We, as women, are more interested in seeing how the women look. Even the number of posts within male celeb threads tend to be less and they're usually positive with occasional "I don't get it?"

Saying "I don't find him attractive" is different than being negative & critical of physical features.

FTR this post isn't directed at anyone specifically or in regards to this Amal thread.

Because (at least for me) she's not a celebrity - She's only 'famous' and on these boards b/c she's married to Clooney.
I look at her completely differently than I look at Kim Kardashian or Gweneth Paltrow, or JLo ..........who get paid based on what they look like.
