A cold at 1 month old!
My son has had a cold going on two weeks now. Just wanted to know if yo ladies have any home remedies I can try. I do the saline as much as I can. (he only lets me do it when he is sleeping) if there is something to aspirate I do that. I did the steam shower thing once. I'll do it again, Maybe multipile times during the day right?
He is still so miserable with his little nose so clogged. You can tell he has trouble sleeping and staying asleep because he can't breathe. He's been sleeping on me since the cold so I know he is elevated. (he gets longer sleep when he is on me b/c when he stirs b/c of his nose i just sway him back to sleep).
ok enough babbling.. sorry .. thanks for any advice!!
(btw its not green and no fever)

I can't tell you how helpful the cool air humidifer is. It helps break up the congestion and helps them to breathe better. When DS was sick I ran it all the time - it got to the point that my room looked like a rainforest and the bedding was damp but it helped him so I didn't care!

Re: A cold at 1 month old!
Try using a humidifier. DS has been sleeping in his carseat for a few days because he has a cough. Seems to help him sleep better. He has had nasal congestion since his birth. The dr. said to use saline and a humidifier. Also steam. Not much else to do. Keeping him elevated has helped him sleep....Hope he feels better soon...
