A couple of 1st Birthday Party questions
I figured I'd combine all my questions in one thread rather than saturating this forum with my questions .
DD will be 1 this June and I am working on her birthday party. We are having it at home in our backyard and I am SO excited for all the planning I was hoping to get a few recommendations from those of you who have already been through this.
1. Can anyone recommend a good but fairly priced photographer that I can hire to come for the day and take pictures so that I am not a slave to my camera? I am not looking for an album or prints or anything - I just want someone I can depend on to capture the day.
2. What kind of entertainment do you/would you have if it is a backyard party? I am planning on doing a pony ride but I wanted to hire some other form of entertainment for the kids. There will be children of all ages. (No bounce houses or clowns)
3. Any good companies for pony rides?
4. I remember a while back a lot of people posting about Emerald City Sweets. I want to do a dessert buffet and I'm debating on whether I should do it myself or just play it safe and easy and hire someone to do it. I don't see a website for Emerald City. Are there any other good companies out there for this that I should check out?
If anyone has any other good ideas or tidbits of info that they can offer, I'd definitely appreciate it.
Oh and the theme is Pink Elephants
Thanks!!!!!

Re: A couple of 1st Birthday Party questions
For entertainment I'd go with music I was gonna suggest a bounce house but see you aren't going that route! I've always done my own candy tables bc it's very easy to do!

Where are you located? I have a friend who is starting out as a photographer. She took some amazing pics of my DS. Check her out: Shannon Timoney

Re: A couple of 1st Birthday Party questions
I have a girl I've used for parties and she is very reasonable. Email me if you want her info. She took the pics at the twins 1st bday so look up those pics on FB if you wanna see her work. Also, I used Wrap it Up (Bethpage Florist) for the balloons at the twins 1st bday and I remember them telling me they do candy carts. If you are doing balloons, definitely check them out too, they were very reasonably priced.

The reason I'm not crazy about the bounce house is bc we are putting down new lawn and I'm worried it will get destroyed.
We are most likely going to get a DJ of some sort for music.
