A few questions from someone who wants a girl (SO BADLY)
When you were TTC did you do anything to "help" in what sex you wanted? Did it work?

Yes and we got a girl. Not sure if it was luck or if it actually worked.
We did the deed mostly before I got my positive OPK then only one time time day after.

I was sure I was having a girl, I wanted ONLY girls...until I got pregnant and as soon as I took that bloody test, I knew I was having a boy.
Lo and behold...BOY.
But there is loads in the press here in the UK about Victoria Beckham saying she wants another baby and she HAS to have a girl.
If you have that baby and its not a girl, let me tell you one thing. You will not care. Honestly, the thought won't go through your head once you are holding that little boy.
ok...mine is crying now.

You can always pay thousands of dollars to have your eggs spun out. Personally, I think that's a little extreme, however, to each her own.
I have a girl, however, I am pretty sure that if she was a boy, I wouldn't care. You will be so concerned about the baby's health that it won't matter to you what sex it is.And you will love the baby no matter what. You just do.

haha, sounds absurd but my DH is a soup lover and everyone predicted we'll have a girl because of that and that's what we ended up having!
also, scientifically speaking, i read that girl sperms swim faster because they aren't as 'sticky' as boys? kinda makes sense if they have been 'diluted' by soup/liquids?
i know, i sound like a nut.

No, not nuts. It's a scientific fact. If you go on Webmd.com's ovulation calendar, there is a try for a boy & try for a girl option. While I used both options & it worked, it could have been a fluke. In the end if your partner produces more y chromosome sperm than x, you'll wind up with a boy.

Also if your hubby works in a "hot" nevironment you have more of a chance of having a girl. There was a study doen of fighter pilots whose boys are probably always hot in those flight suits and tight cockpits and they had mostly girls. Also try to BD not on O day for a girl. Try before. Check out the Shettles method online. I think thats the name. Good luck!

we bought some book on what to eat what not to eat etc,,,,,,,,,and we gfollowed it and we have a boy!!!!! dont know if it worked or it was luck!

<I'm a boy and my Daddy spent atleast 4 years of wearing flightsuits in hot cockpits.
As a wife of an USAF pilot that study is bunk and just a rumor that is always shared by the younger LT's (newbies) the Capts, Majors and Col's all have plenty of sons. If it was true then why do I see so many Boy BRATS. There is some truth to the fact that the raditation in the planes is known to kill of more boy spermies then girl by even that truely depends on the plane.
We tried changing my diet this time around so we shall see if that gets me a girl..lol

I heard that male sperm swim faster but die quicker.. so the tale I heard is that if you do the deed right when you ovulate you will have a boy, and if you ovulate then wait a day or two to do the deed you will have a girl. For me, it kinda worked. I used an OPK on a sunday morn and i got the line saying i was ovulating (or would within 24-48 hrs) so we BD sunday night, that one time that was it, and I had a boy. But in all actuality, I think its a crapshoot. Good luck! Hope you have a girl...
