A few weeks ago I asked if it would be OK to give some of Emily's extra-curricular teachers handmade hats as Christmas gifts. I crochet hats just as a hobby, and have given them to friends and family just as extra little things. We were tight on money this holiday season so I wanted to know if it would be OK to give some hats to these teachers.
Today we gave out our last hat. It was for Emily's religion teacher. She was absent the last class before Christmas so we had to wait until today to give it to her. I gave Emily the gift bag and she brought it to class with her.
After class the teacher approached me. It turns out that she has an online children's clothing boutique and she wants to sell my hats in her store!
She was asking me all kinds of things...what else do I make? I told her my nieces all got a hat, infinity scarf and american girl doll hat for Christmas that matched. She was so excited and wants me to start making as many as possible for her to sell! She said she will pay me up front on them!
I checked out her website and it is legit. Also, the prices I was thinking of charging go right along with what she will sell them for online. She can just double my price and make a really good profit, if she sells them for the same price of similar items she is selling on her website.
I'm pretty excited about this opportunity. It is something I enjoy doing and I can make a little bit of extra money.
I guess it was a good decision to make hats for her "extra" teachers!
