A found dog with a happy ending.
My DH and I went out to Southampton yesterday to his aunts. Since that is like an hour and 20 mintues from us, I knew we would be home late and I didn't want Rudy home that long by himself. I asked my parents (who live about 5 minutes from us to check on Rudy let him out check his water and play with him for a little.
I called them later on when we were still at my DH aunt's house to see how Rudy was and my mom says he was fine but guess what happened when we got home
She said they pulled up in their driveway and a little shitzu was sitting on their porch. Just chillin. My dad got out of the car and the dog ran up to him. Poor thing had no tags on But a collar and a leash. The dog was very well groomed and had something wrong with his eye (it didn't look like a new wound though) My dad was scared to call animal control cause he didn't want anything to happen to him. I told him he had to call the animal shelter. So I got the # and called it was just a recording however it said if you found a stray dog there is a 24 hour entrance in the back of the building.
So on the way home My dh and I stopped at the animal shelter in Wantagh and told the guy (who works there) my parents found a dog. I didn't want to describe so the guy described it to me. It was definetly the dog. I told him my parents were scared to bring the dog cause he didn't want to go to the pound He said he understood and gave me the #.
We got to my parents house and this dog was SO CUTE. My dad was so happy we found the owner but sad to see the dog go He was so cute! We called them and it turns out it was their dog. They described him black colar black leash bad eye.... They lived on the other side of wantagh ave and the dog ran across it. Wantagh Ave is 4 lanes and VERY BUSY Thank god the dog didn't get hit by a car .
Growing up my parents had a cat and it just appeared on our door one day so it was funny and cute that this dog just appeared. But his mom came to get him and my parents were so happy but sad And his family was so Happy and my dad said please get him some tags

Re: A found dog with a happy ending.
What a nice story!!
Last Christmas we were in Vermont for a few days at my sister's. A cute little cocker spaniel showed up in her yard. Mind you it was about 10 degrees and snow on the ground, she lives on a mountain with not too may neighbors. Anyway they put the dog in their barn (since they have a non-welcoming dog of their own and Ebony was in their house too). DH and I bought the dog a Christmas present on Christmas Eve. Well that night a biiiig, heavy man with white hair and a BEARD came knocking on their door!! He was the owner, and was so so happy to have his dog back - he had run away from him a few miles down the road. The dog was elated too. I swear the man LOOKED LIKE ST.NICK!!!!
So please please please - get tags for your dog!!
Scout had his on before we left the breeder's.
