A friend just....
miscarried. It was early, but it still hurts of course. I am not sure what to say... it's so devastating.
What would you say or do for her? If you went through a miscarriage, what was helpful for you from friends?

Re: A friend just....
it was nice to hear people were there for me. but if your gonna say something say it. I hated teh fact people were beating around the bush. IT made it easier for me to know i wasnt a lone.

Re: A friend just....
I have been in this unfortunate situation. I think the best thing in the world is to know someone is there for you, but at the same time being reassured that I did not have to talk about it until I was ready. Unless you've been through it, it's impossible to know what it feels like.....and you should not feel bad that you might not completely understand. Just be a friend, that will be more than enough.

Re: A friend just....
Only a few people knew that I miscarried and their words of love and support were enough. Just hearing my BFF say,"I'm so sorry. Are you ok?" Felt great. That is all that is needed. If she wants to talk more or cry on your shoulder she will.

Re: A friend just....
Just say "Im here if you need me." She will call upon you when she is ready.
What not to say:
"Well at least you know you can get pregnant."
or
"I know women who have had multiple miscarriages and have healthy babies now."
As comforting as people think that may be, it isn't.

I agree, don't say this, it doesn't help.
Just be there for her, all you have to do is give her a hug and let her know when she is ready to talk, you are there to listen.
