A little early, but Thanksgiving menus

This is the first year that I will be hosting Thanksgiving and I am starting to panic. I already have enlisted my MIL's help to cook the turkey.
I figured I would have everyone each bring a dish - either a starter, side or dessert.
My MIL is making stuffing, and potatoe pie - aftger that I don't know what else to have people bring?

What is on your menu?

Re: A little early, but Thanksgiving menus

I haven't really fine-tuned my menu, but here is my basic plan (most are repeats that I serve year after year).

Hors d'ourves -

Shrimp Cocktail
Baked Brie Bites
Spinach Dip in Bread Bowl
Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms
(I may also add in TJ's Feta and Carmelized Onion puffs OR make my own cheese puffs)

I usually make a specialty drink to serve in a punch bowl along with the usual wine, beer, etc. In the past I've done winter spiced sangria or something like that... I may do some kind of spiked apple cider this year.

Main Course and Sides

2 Roasted Turkey Breasts (I am the only one who really likes the dark meat, and it's just easier to do the 2 breasts). I have a good recipe -- everyone always likes it!
Homemade gravy
Mashed Potatoes
Sweet Potatoes with Pecans and Mini Marshmallows
Apple & Sausage Stuffing
Carrot Souffle
Corn Casserole
Some kind of veg (maybe spinach gratin)
Salad
Rolls
Cranberry Sauce

Desserts

Fruit & Nuts & Chocolate (for in between dinner and dessert/coffee)

Pies and Coffee - Usually have some kind of apple pie or crisp, a pumpkin dessert, and a pecan pie... may switch it up this year!

Re: A little early, but Thanksgiving menus

It's just me and DH (we are overseas), so I'm not sure I could really contribute any new ideas.

No apps, lol. But if I weren't working until 9, I'd do a butternut squash soup.

Main: crockpot turkey breast with gravy from skinny taste. I'm adding bacon on top because I can only find skinless, boneless turkey breast here. It's either that or turkey schnitzel, lol.

Sides:
Pioneer Woman's green bean casserole
Stuffed mushrooms
Knödel/Klöße (German potato dumplings, goes great with gravy)

Dessert:
Coconut pot de crème.

I did find young turkey here (and it would actually fit in my tiny oven), but I like to have Thanksgiving on the actual day, and it's a regular work day for me here Chat Icon .
