A little late in the season...but a way to keep your pants IN your boots!
I ordered these yesterday. With shipping, they came to about $8.
from here
They are kind of like the little clips that kept out mittens attached to our coats as kids.

oh my god i remember these from when i was little, and my mom used to use these with her snow boots
they work

i wrap them nice and stuff them into a tall pair of socks, then i slip my boots on
seems to do the trick
however this is a good alternative
