A little MIL vent...
DD has been sick and waking in the night so I asked him to take her this morning and wake me as late as he could. And to my amazement he did it!
I told my MIL and she was soooo proud of him. "That's amazing that he could do that"...That was so nice of him" blah blah blah...
W*T*F! She should be embarrased of her son. DD is 2 1/2 years old and this was his 1st TIME EVER EVER managing to shower and get dressed and watch DD.
What does she think I do????? Stuff DD in a closet so I can take a shower???
I do appreciate that he let me sleep in but I'm not ready to roll out the red carpet for him

Re: A little MIL vent...
I will never get MIL's. In my house DH does just as much as I do with the kids, and I do not ever praise him like he si the king fo doing what he should be doing.
Tell your MIL to stuff it.

Really?..... Amazing?...... Why? It always bothers me when people act like men can't possibly watch their own kids for a little while. OK, we may not be as nurturing as women, in general, but that's no reason why it should be "amazing" that we can take care of them......
I was watching both DC last night so DW could go out with friends. I didn't expect confetti, balloons and a parade for my efforts, just a smile on DW's face because she was having a good time.

That's because you're one of the good ones. My DH never complains when he has to watch DS, but there are LOTS of men who do.

You actually "get it". Lots of men don't. DH understands that that his DS too. I guess I am "lucky". I think it's just common sense that DH helps me. We both work and I am not anyone's slave.

Re: A little MIL vent...
I think that because my FIL did absolutely nothing child care wise for her that she thinks men just don't do that.
I worry everyday that DH will be more and more like his father (child care wise...other than that he's super nice )
