Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...
Maybe it was his handbag?
My DH will hold my bag for a few minutes, if necessary. He holds it in the dead rat way that clearly indicates it is not his.

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...
Mine will hold it for me if I am going into someplace like a gross bathroom where I know there will be no hooks on the door, and I am afraid it will hit the floor. Occasionally, there are other situations where he will do it, but generally my bag is not that heavy that I can't handle carrying it myself.

The man bag or man purse is not cute in anyway ! My DH has offered to carry my bag but that is a no-no. I don't want the boys to hit on him.

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...
Rob does this for me. He also carries my coat. I think it is very courtly of him.
That said, he doesn't throw it over his shoulders and prance around like he owns it...
ETA: He carries it for me when I need to have my hands free to look at something - or if I need to pick up one of our kids. Sometimes if it heavy and hurting my shoulder (I have a neck injury that will sometimes cause me extreme pain in my shoulders and arms). Or if I am feeling particuarly fabulous and want to make an entrance showing ME rather than my bag and coat.

Let me clarify...I meant where a man is holding her bag and she is holding nothing.
For instance: I was walking to work this morning and in front of me was a man holding his SO's Fendi bag...she had NOTHING in her hands...no bags, clothing, etc...
Is it a cultural thing that I'm missing out on?
some girls just got it like that.
he prob wipes her too
I don't got it like that. I don't think that I'd want to.

No, but it could be an injury or disability that you can't see.
I can't carry anything on my right shoulder. Last night, I had more stuff than I expected to have in my VB tote bag and DH and I had to walk several blocks out of our way for something. My "good" shoulder hurt from the heavy bag, so DH offered to carry it for me.
My DH rocks.

I say more power to a woman who can get her man to do this. If I ever need JT to hold my bag for a second, he rolls his eyes and holds it away from his body on one finger. However, it is a rare occasion that I would emasculate him that way
Ditto! Personally, I wouldn't want my DH to walk around carrying my bag. Not a cool look for me or him

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...
He has held it for me, not does not walk around with it. I will ask him to hold it for a "second" while I look at something - he usually counts to one then puts it on the floor. I just give him a look and he will pick it up and hold it until I'm done.
It's never more than a minute or two.

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...
My dh never has a problem holding it for a minute.
My grandfather was holding my grandmother's one time when we were on vacation and I looked at him weird and he was like-who cares! He was older though and as you get older, you don't care who sees you!!

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...
DH has to carry mine for like a second if I am putting on my coat or something. Carrying for extended lengths of time does not happen

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...
I personally don't see anything wrong with it, especially if he's trying to help her out. So long as he doesn't throw it over his shoulder.

Re: A man carrying his "woman's" handbag...
i dont think he has ever held it for me.
i see no need anyway - if i can figure out how to hold my bag while using a public toilet - i pretty much can figure out how to hold my bag in any situation.
