A message from my Aunt

I just wanted to pass this on....

Dear Angela,
I heard the news today, and believe me when I say, I feel your pain. My heart breaks for you and your loss.
Twenty five years ago, after a year of infertility testing and the pronouncement that I would never be able to concieve, I found out that I was pregnant. A miracle... I couldn't believe it... but it turned out it was ectopic and I was rushed into the emergency room for surgery within the hour. The Dr. had to cut out the piece of fallopian tube where the fetus has settled, further dismaying us in our hopes to have a child. This happened the day before thanksgiving, and while I was alive, did not feel very thankful. In fact, Harry and I were devastated. Hope and joy were replaced by despair.
Our only option at that point was adoption, and it was one year to the date that our beautiful baby Samantha was born. Who could have guessed that from all that pain something so beautiful could've occurred. That's when my faith understood that I really control nothing and that my life is a part of God's plan, as painful as it sometimes is... but He knew what was best, and how we have been blessed. And though I still wonder about what was not to be, I realize how thankful I am for what we do have. You and Shaun have each other, and God willing, will someday share that love with a child of your own.
So amidst your grief, maintain faith and hope, for there is something wonderful in your future. I may not know, and you may not know, but He does. So, hold on to that promise He made to you in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
My thoughts and prayers are with you. Just give yourself a little time and hold on to your love.

My cousin Sam is adopted... but my Aunt went on to have 3 girls of her own after they adopted my cousin...

Wow! You are so lucky to have someone like her in your life. The quote from Jeremiah has helped me in this journey. I remember feeling so down one day and sitting in a co-workers office and she had it posted on the wall. I was alone in the room at the time and I got the chills. I think about it often.
