A message to all moms, because I think we need it!!
OK.
A lot of threads are making my HEAD SPIN.
Between BPA, SIDS, Organic food, vaccinations, autism, milestones, ultrasounds etc... (not necessarily all from today, but over the past few weeks)...
My brain just can't handle it. I myself read the threads even though I tell myself not to. As a mom to a child with a sensory disorder it sometimes shakes me up even more.
-Are Johnny's sensory probs due to BPA? Vaccines? Something I did while pregnant?? It is enough to make me crazy. And I have enough craziness in my life, lol.
I am not posting this to say "ignore it all". Of course we are going to worry, it is natural.
BUT my point is that we are all good moms. We all do what is right and what works for all of us! There is a lot of scary stuff out there but please remember...what is the hot topic this week will not be next week..it will be replaced by yet another thing to wrap our minds around.
When anyone else is feeling anxious over it all just remember to breathe...our parents did it and their parents did it...all with different concerns, different battles to fight...educate yourself, but don't over research and over think to the point of nausea. Just not worth it.
I will come back here and read my own words when the next thing happens

Thanks Maureen,
I've been getting myself all worked up over these vaccines and just like you, my ped said I shouldn't get myself crazy.....
As in life, there's always something, and the more I worry, the more I take away the precious time with my DS....he's getting so big, I need to remember that......

I agree whole heartedly. Sometimes I have to take a step back.
The only problem is that if I don't worry, then I worry that I'm not worried

Re: A message to all moms, because I think we need it!!
I am so, so sorry I had read your post on the other board and sat here in tears the whole time.
Of course you know it was nothing you did...and although I know my situation is different than yours (I cannot imagine the pain you went through)....we as moms always question ourselves.
I sat here yesterday crying because I read a possible link between tuna consumption and neurological probs during pregnancy. I had a few tuna sandwiches and convinced myself that is maybe why johnny has issues now.
It took a friend who is a doctor telling me it certainly is not that, and I need to stop wondering. In my heart I know it wasn't from tuna. But when you have no answers, it is very hard to deal with sometimes.

thanks for the post. I tend to be more of a "laid back" type mom and do not get all wrapped up in these things.

I like to think of myself as a laid back mom, but then someone says something like "well, you're not getting the mom of the year award this year" and then my heart sinks and I want to crawl in a hole and die...

Re: A message to all moms, because I think we need it!!
Thank you for this post. I am one of those completely worried, I know its sometimes not rational and I don't know why I click on these posts sometimes and then apply them to my life.....it honestly makes me sometimes stay away from the boards because in some ways I'd like to not even know what I should be worried about. I want to enjoy my son and not worry every time I look at him or question why he isn't doing something "according to schedule" I really have decded I need to choose my battles so to speak. There are certain things I adamantly will do for my son which in my mind protect him but I just don't see how anyone can avoid all te possible things that could happen ....
Parenting is hard enough and all these other things to worry about on top of that just can make you crazy. I am working on it and knowing there are other people here that understand really does help.....
