A new hurdle-mlow morphology.

I just need to vent and whine. I just got back from an appt with my RE. I had uterine polyp removed a couple of weeks ago and all is good in that dept. I will (hopefully) be starting IVF#2 on Thursday. Long story short, DH's semenalysis showed compromised motility (30% I think) and very low morphology 4%. This is nuts. We've had 2-3 analyses done in the past and everything was in the normal range. Why all of a sudden? A fluke? I did a little research and since we're doing ICSI, our chances are good, but you know how it is with this stuff. It's bad enough we're here for multiple reasons...stop throwing speed bumps out in front of us already.

I'm going to the gym now to get out these frustrations. grrrrrrrr.

Sorry you are frustrated. I know my DH's first SA was completely normal, and then a few months later we were dealing with 0% morphology.

Since you are doing ICSI, his motility and morphology won't be an issue.

Yes, it can be a fluke. A man's count, morphology, etc. can change constantly....due to diet, stress, etc. I know just from eating healthier and taking vitamins, DH's analysis was greatly improved.....

My DH's SA was totally different the 2nd time he did one. One was done during a stressful time of year, the other when he was not so stressed. You can imagine which was the normal one versus the one with the 3% morph problem.

Re: A new hurdle-low morphology.

Thanks girls, I did find some good info online about it. He could have had a bad cold 3 months ago, which affected his boys...who knows.

Plus, I think if the doc was so concerned about it, he'd have dh leave a backup deposit before the ivf.

We'll deal.
