A new Lovenox mom-2-be and breast feeding ?
Hi, I'm officially new to the expecting mom's threads at 11 weeks along However, with a single strand of the Factor V Leiden gene, a single strand of Prothrombin and slight Protien S deficiency (not to mention poor reaction years ago to BCP's before I was tested for all this fun stuff), my OB referred me to a Hemotologist who has me shooting myself with Lovenox daily... and the fun begins.
I was wondering how many ladies who have been on Lovenox through pregnancy and post partum have breast fed their babies? I noticed in the drugs PI that while it doesn't cross the placenta, there is no data to suggest one way or another as to whether or not it affects breast milk. I really would like to breast feed for a number of reasons, but obviously would abstain if it were to cause the baby harm. I will be on Lovenox post partum for a little while at least.

My best friend was on Lovenox for a clotting disorder similar to yours during her pregnancies and she successfully bf both her children with no problem.

Re: A new Lovenox mom-2-be and breast feeding ?
i was on it with my son, and am on it again this time around....with ryan i did bf him for the first 2 and ahalf weeks (i know, ridiculous). but, there was absolutely no issue with taking the lovenox and bf. good luck with the shots...while they aren't fun, they are SO worth the end result! any other questions feel free to fm!
