A new mothering low...
I'm sick in bed today. DH had to go into work, so I'm home alone with both kids. I was up at 6am making Joseph his first breakfast of the day. By 7am I was up again making Maddie breakfast & Joseph another breakfast.
I tell them to play quietly in their rooms & let me sleep a little bit.
I woke up when I hear Joseph say "You liked that? Here I'll make you another one." So I yell out "What are you doing?" He responds "Nothing" (I'm a little concerned but not enough to try to get my head off of the pillow.). I drift off & wake up a few minutes later and say "Joseph I need you to tell me what you're doing." He answers "Making a cracker sandwich." I go back to sleep thinking they've both had at least one healthy breakfast, 3 crackers together isn't so bad. I wake up again when I hear this strange whir sound. I come out to the kitchen & see crackers, crumbs, maple syrup & whipped cream all over the table.. I said "What is this?" Joseph answers "I told you I was making cracker sandwiches for Maddie & myself." I said "What's with the whipped cream & maple syrup?" He said "Oh if you don't put the topping on, it's not a really good sandwich, it's just 3 plain crackers."
