I'm so sorry! I had that big time in my 2nd trimester. It was unbelievable, really. I have always had a very high fiber diet, and always drank enough fluids, so it was unimaginable for me to be suffering so much.
I highly recommend you become friends with Mr. Prune. Ever since then, he and I were very close.... that and a lot of water was the only thing that would get things going again....
GD made me say goodbye to prunes.... but by then, I had no more constipation.

Dried apricots, Benefiber and Milk of Magnesia have all becomes staples of my diet.

Hopefully, you won't need it. Eat lots of fiber, water, prune juice, etc.
try not to push it out... if you know what i mean.. otherwise you will get the dreaded "H" but sometimes those are just unavoidable in pregnancy.

Do yourself a favor and go to the store and get some Colace. They're OTC pills that are approved by every OB it seems, they'll help and you can take them everyday. You can find them next to the exlax/pepto/gasx stuff. They've kept me sane.

I am having the same problem!! I didn't even know that was a symptom of being PG. I have never been too regular but this past week has been awful.

I had the same problem early on in my first trimester. Metimucil became my best friend! My Dr. actually advised against colace.
Now at just about 20 weeks, it's returned with a vengence!

I take my Meta every day! Started about a year and a half ago before I was even pregnant. It's SO good for you!

Why does your doctor advise against colace? I have been taking that!!

Try the Pre-Nate Prenatals- they have a stool softner built in. I find I am much more comfortable this pregnancy.

I was oncstipated trhough my entire pregnancy, it was aweful. I actually requested an enema when i went in to deliver.
