A shot? If you are not breastfeeding?
I learned this week that breastfeeding is NOT an option for me at all and someone casually mentioned that after birth I should let the doc/nurses know this and they can give me some sort of shot?
Has anyone here received this shot?

Maybe you mean the shot to dry up your milk supply?
I was looking for this to when I decided to stop pumping- I found out in my research they don't give it anymore because it causes strokes or something.

I have heard the same thing, in the olden days (like the 1980's or something) they used to do this, but its now outdated for some kind of health reasons.
Your milk should dry up in a few days!

They used to do this back in the day...my MIL actually asked me because she knew I wasn't BF-ing...but nowadays they tell you to just wear a really tight bra and nursing pads...
A suggestion a doctor gave me but I didn't really need...put frozen cabbage leaves in your bra, the heat from your b re ast will bring out something in the cabbage leaf that helps constrict the blood vessels...

I asked my doctor about this and she said they wouldn't do this and that it was practice years ago.. Not sure if they couldn't do it though.

I remember my m om did this after she had me and she said not only did it dry up her milk but it made her boobs a cup size smaller she said before she was prego she was a C cup then after the shot and all the milk dried up she went down to a B.
