A student almost made me fall down the stairs!
So I'm walking down the stairs this morning, and I hear this student run into the stair well and he proceeded to throw his book bag from the second floor down onto the first floor!
It just missed my head and fell right in front of me, scaring the crap out of me and almost causing me to slip and fall down the stairs
I grabbed the student (who tried to run past me) and tried to explain the seriousness of the situation, he tried to be cute and kept saying "hi" giggling like it was funny. I told his teachers about the situation and I went ahead and wrote the student up. Just the thought of falling down those hard steps, sends chills down my spine, how would I have protected my baby?

I have fallen down the stairs before. Just make sure to fall on your bottom and not on your belly.

I hear you. I teach in a psychiatric day treatment center. It can be dangerous. We have some very aggressive clients. I try to keep myself out of harm's way.

Wow!
Its just mind boggling to me...I mean, I know he didn't do it to be malicious, however I don't understand what made him think, hey I throw my book bag down the stairs for fun! and laugh about it after I confronted him...that's what made me more mad...I could have seriously gotten hurt!

Oh my gosh!!! Thank goodness you're okay!!! I would've wanted to strangle that kid!!!! I have the same problem in school (elementary level). They are always running past you, trampling everyone, it's like nobody taught them manners. I worry everyday I am going to get trampled!!

Bottom line is this...kids are kids and they do stuff like that. They are impervious to consequences and we as adults cannot expect that they will live and behave as we do. Take a look at all of the horrible things that young teens do and then are dumb enough to put up on YouTube. Some (not all) just don't get it.
