would i have to wear a hooter hider all the time??? I think yes, dh said no...that it is still young.

at what age, if any, should a little boy not be exposed to boobs out nursing?

at night, i nurse her and read to him in bed. he sees everything.

I would hide them, however I am one of the people who feel very uncomfortable BFing in public and I am already stressing out about my 2-yr-old son seeing me BF the babies in August. When Landon sees me in a bra he says "Look, I see mommies balls. I want to touch mommies balls" I can't imagine what he will say when he sees the babies BFing!

But I don't think at 6.5 it is that big of deal, explain it to him. Its BFing, not porn!

My 4 year old sees me naked when I get out of the shower and still doesn't question anything.

I don't think there is anything to be embarrassed about. When I nursed DD my nieces were 7 & 5 and you could barely see anything.

My nephew has grown up around BFing (SIL had 6 kids). He's 12 now, and the oldest (youngest is 8mths), and he's totally unfazed by it - its his norm. I don't think she's all out there shirtless in front of him, but she does BF anywhere and everywhere.

I wouldn't worry about it at all.

I wonder if it is OK with Ryan now b/c he def. "gets it".
The other day he found breast shields in my room. He said, "Mommy, put this on your body and squeeze milk out for Colin". Then he put his mouth into it and said, "dooo da dooo"

I say, if I have another child, I'll like to be able to stay home the first year so I don't have to go through this pumping thing again, but wonder if I'll be hiding from Ryan.

So, I guess at 6.5 I wouldl say yes, I would be more discrete around my son.

I still nurse around my 5 yr old sister, but it's obviously different.

I would not hide it at any age, but that's just me. If I had an older son at home, I probably wouldn't sit around topless nursing, but I wouldn't hide either. I would do it discreetly just as I do in public. My brothers are 13 & 16 & I nurse my son idiscreetly in front of them.

I wouldn't. I don't think breasts are sexualized in any way to a 6 year old. BFing is natural. Our society is paranoid about boobs and what they were made for.

I think its TOTALLY fine to see boobs for the purpose of nursing!! After a few weeks, the boobs will be out so much, he wont even notice!

I think that its a beautiful thing for your kids (sons or daughters) to see you nursing your new baby, it shows them how much you loved them when nursing them.

I have my boobs out pretty much all the time when I am home, yesterday I almost answered the door with one flap of my bra down.

I think that you should never hide you breastfeeding your baby to your children, no matter how old they are!

i think it is because i never remember ever seeing my mother's boobs and try to imagine if my brothers had seen them...

i am not very discreet at all at home. these things are being aired out all the time ever since our stint with thrush.

He's your son, he won't be traumatized by seeing your breasts when you nurse.

My DS is 2.5 and I EBF my DD - I always wear a nursing cover when he is in the room - which, since I am a SAHM is 90% of the time during the day. Also, I never pump with him around. It is just what you are comfortable with. I know my DS would be so curious, asking a million questions and I have no idea how he would report this to others since he is very verbal Also, at this age, I couldn't be 100% sure how he would process this so, I do what I feel comfortable with.

I don't see a reason to ever hide it from a child, regardless of age. He could legally see that in public so being exposed to it in his own home would help him realize its normal so he would never think twice seeing it in public. Just the way I see it. And I bet it would help him in the future with being supportive of his own wife when the time comes from being exposed to it as a child
