Ive done this post before, but let's do it again Chat Icon

I figured this is a perfect time of year.

As a tribute to teachers and the powerful impact they have on students every day. THe amazing roles they play in our childrens' (and our) lives.

Name some teachers youve had and what made them so special/powerful/memorable so many years later.

and have you ever told them (even years later) how you felt ?

TEACHERS - Youre all my role models for that "one daY" when I do start teaching. Chat Icon

OK, I'll begin.

My kindergarten teacher - Although she was a bit strict with discipline, she had a soft heart and a way with children. She was very loving, always happy. ONe memorable thing she did was let us choose a book to keep when we had read a certain amount of books, and she wrote a little note to us in the book cover. It was like having a celebrity's autograph Chat Icon
We had kept in touch through the years, she had even been to my house to have coffee with my parents (Italian thing, not brown-nose thing Chat Icon) actually this was YEARS later. it was kinda cool Chat Icon

My high school Journalism teacher- he was just that "cool" kinda teacher. Related very well to us, was so easy to talk to, we felt like we had a friend as a teacher. and was the person we'd go to if we had questions non-school related.

One college Prof - World Affairs. I had a tough time in her class, and she was VERY helpful in allowing me to do projects differently and on my own. I called to thank her for what she did and how helpful it was for me, just last year. She was soo touched. Chat Icon

I never thought about "different learning styles" and all that, before I got my Masters and started subbing. So it was nice to know that I was affected (in a positive waY) by a teacher who realized it.

I'll think of some more later...

OK, next ???
