? about breast pads for BF moms
I read that you should not be using pads lined with plastic so your nipples can "breathe".
Since this baby will be coming soon and I am trying to be "ready", I am not sure what brand/type to buy.
How do you know if it has a plastic liner or not?
Which one do you use?

Re: ? about breast pads for BF moms
the problem I had w/ nursing pads is that they totally showed through clothing. I hated how it looked. I ended up getting these . They worked really well. They are silicone but I never had a problem w/ them.

Re: ? about breast pads for BF moms
i used avent and johson and johnson- they absorbed the most- your milk wont regulate for a while....then, i used lily pads (those silicone ones) after milk got regulates- or else the milk jsut built up and u had to take off the pad and let the milk out....

I used those too... they worked GREAT. Plus, it's less waste and you don't have to carry around extra pads with you all the time.

I wish I had known about these!!
I used Avent ones when I was leaking a lot and then I used the Gerber ultra-thin pads for when I was just leaking a little bit. they don't show through your clothes too much

Re: ? about breast pads for BF moms
I mostly use Johnson & Johnson. I find them to be the most comfortable and they do not have a plastic lining. I sometimes use Lansinoh, which does have a plastic lining, but I like that the pads are very thin and not so "apparent".
I have tried Lily Pads and I personally would not recommend them. They hold in all the milk and if/when they finally can't hold back any more, you'll spring an insane leak. LOL. Plus, if you think about it, they're a good way to get a clogged duct. If your breast is so full that it needs to leak, it should be allowed to do so. I would only use them occasionally if you plan on going braless or something and you feel comfortable that your breasts won't become so full that they would need to leak.

Re: ? about breast pads for BF moms
These Lansinoh Ultra Soft were the BEST!!! I didn't need pads because of leakage, but mine were always sore and these really helped. I couldn't have the friction of my bra or I'd be really uncomfortable.

I use the gerber ones everyday. I don't like the plastic ones at all.
