? about facial products in general...
So Im 30 and I've never been one to collect a lot of things for my face. I basically have used Dove soap and neutrogena moisturizer for as long as I can remember and my skin is great.
My question, when I walk into sephora Im overwhelmed by the amount of products and I dont know where to start. Not to mention, I cant even imagine paying more than like $10 for a moisturizer. How do you all come accross the products you use?? Trial and error? Do you spend a ton of money on stuff?? I feel like I should start taking preventative measures before my wrinkles pop out but I dont know where to start Any suggestions?? TIA!

I use Oil of Olay, I have used this since I was 15. I swear by it. I mix up the products I use but never the brand. I am a firm believer in if its not broke dont fix it. I get great results for a fair price.

Re: ? about facial products in general...
I just went to my dermatologist and she asked me what I was using for a face cream. I told her Oil of Olay and she shook her head no.
She recommended a lotion called Neutraderm (blue and white bottle) instead. It's working great lately.
But hey, if something works for you then I'd stick with it. I thought that Oil of Olay was best. Oh well...

Re: ? about facial products in general...
I too get overwhelmed in Sephora. I just don't know where to go and what to look at. Some stuff I'm not even sure if its a face wash, a moisturizer, or a body lotion.
A good friend of mine recommended Mario Badescu to me several years ago. She always had great skin, and that's what she was using. I've been a dedicated user ever since. I use MB eye creme and moisturizer daily.
For face wash, I always used Dove soap. Last year my skin was really dry, so I tried the CVS brand of Cetaphil. It's very gentle and doesn't sting my eyes one bit, so I continued to use it. And it lasts a long time.
I use Neutrogen face scrub at least once a week.
Oil of Olay irriatates my skin, and I can't use any of their products without my eyes or lips swelling.
So for me, I stick to very gentle, basic products and don't experiment with other more exepensive items.

Re: ? about facial products in general...
I think everyone's skin is different. -
I use Dove bar soap and Purpose moisturizer - I have for years, recommended by my dermatologist - He told me all of that other 'stuff' wasn't good for my skin - In the summer I use witch hazel as an astringent ........and in the winter, the Garnier facial scrub (it's very gentle)
So, I stick with what works - My skin looks fabulous, and I'm 29 - I never even bother with the other stuff -

I couldn't find Neutraderm in CVS - where did you buy it?

I have used cheap and expensive product over the years. It has been trial and errors.
I now with Estheticians (co-workers) and I pick their brain for their knowledge on skin care. They mention products I never heard of before.
