It partially depends on how high quality of a picture you are taking and how many mp your camera shoots at. You can change the quality in your camera.

it depends on the size of the pic (more MPs=less pics, and vice versa).
You should be able to look up the card and it should give you an idea of how many pics it holds for a few different MP settings.

I have a 1 gig card in my Nikon coolpix and it gives a 999 picture capacity.
like someone else said though, it depends what setting the MP is on.

its a 7.1 mpxl camera.
It's for my 6 yr old I want her to be able to take a lot of pictures

it depends on settings...most cameras once you plug them in and change settings will indicate how many you can take (approx)
Good rule of thumb for 7 MP camera on auto to factor 6MB per picture.
