? about Nuvaring
My doctor gave me the nuvaring a few weeks ago and I was just waiting for AF to come back to start it.
He said you can start it on the 2nd or 3rd day of your period when it turns to "just spotting."
Well, I don't know what the heck he is thinking but I'm on day 4 and it is nowhere near spotting yet. I guess because it's my 1st period pp it's really heavy.
Anyway, should I wait until it's spotting to start -- or should I just start it now so it's on time with my cycle? I really don't know what I should do. Or should I just call my DR and see what he says?
TIA and sorry for TMI!

Re: ? about Nuvaring
He just said you start it at day 2-3. He didn't really say why and I didn't ask since I've never done it before. I guess that means I should start it today???

Re: ? about Nuvaring
I just re-read the pamphlet that came with the sample and it said to start it between day 1-day 5 but NO later then day 5.

Re: ? about Nuvaring
What is a nuvaring? I know its a form of bc but how does it work? Sorry for the stupid ?
I know if this is your 1st period after giving birth it might last for a really long time. With me it was well over a week probably closer to 2. And the doc said that was normal...I would tripple check with your docto to see when to use this device

The nuva ring is a clear plastic ring ... it's almost like a hair rubberband -- the same size about. It has low levels of hormones -- same as in BC pills but it's the lowest levels of hormones you can get. Basically you fold it in half and put it in -- and keep it in for about 3 then take it out, you get your AF, and you put it in again. It is supposed to have less side effects then the pill has because of the low hormone levels and it is also supposed to be more effective in typical use because you can't forget to take it at one day or take it at the wrong time.

Re: ? about Nuvaring
That's amazing. I don't do too well on the pill because of fluctuating hormones so maybe that would be better...

Re: ? about Nuvaring
My doctor said its the fastest growing form of BC in popularity. Before I decided to go on it I asked on here and a lot of people actually used it and were pleased -- way more then were displeased. I know that I was on the pill twice and once was a HORRIBLE experience (it made be all crazy-like) and the other was just fine. I'm hoping this is good.
