??? about radiation patient and pregnant women

I just found out that someone in my office is getting radiation. She just came back from a long medical leave.

Well, my co-worker who is about 18 wks PG just told me and that we should not go by her area.... which happen to be the door to go outside the building and the restroom.

I am SO PI$$ED that nobody disclosed it to anyone. While I am sorry that she is still sick... isn't the well being on others in the office just as important?

How bad is that really that she is in the office? She has been back for about 1 or 2 weeks.

I don't know much about it, but I was going through it to get pregnant.

What I meant was that it didn't affect my pregnancy and it was my own body. I'd call your doctor to ask.

It should be perfectly fine. One of my relatives has the radiation seeds that they implant for prostate cancer. I asked my dr he said it was perfectly fine to be around him - that it was the only type that you have to be a little careful of - just to not sit on his lap (no problem there) and maybe not sit directly next to him but it was no problem to be in the room with him or at the same table.

it depends on the radiation, i am a radiation therapist... i administer radiation treatments all day and it is totally safe. if someone had a seed implant you're safe as long as you don't sit on their lap for any extended period of time
