Re: Acapulco?
I've been there twice. Both times I stayed at my godmother's condo. They have great restaurants but you really need to get recommendations because most of the restaurants we ate at, you wouldn't know they exist unless someone told you.
We did the usual Carlos & Charlies, went to see the cliff divers etc.
The Princess Hotel is gorgeous.
I had a good time when I went but if you're looking for "carribean" style, this is not the place for you. JMO

Re: Acapulco?
It's not your blue ocean type place. The water is not carribean like.

Re: Acapulco?
We went a few years ago and stayed at Las Brisas. The hotel is built into a mountain overlooking Acapulco Bay. It s set up like little bungalos each with its own private swmming pool.

Re: Acapulco?
Go Go Go....we went there on our honeymoon last year and I have to say I was totally impressed. We stayed at the Fairmont Princess and it was the most amazing place I have been to. We booked them through Liberty Travel and they bumped up to the next level and it was so worth it. The place has an open lobby which looks like a pyramid...The food was amazing. The hotel has 3 or 4 restaurants. The La hacienda (spelling?) was amazing...It was on the beach and the mariachi made the night magical. The hotel is about 10 minutes from the main strip.
The people who work in the hotel and the natives were the nicest hardworking people I have ever met. They were extremely accommodating.
Sorry to go on and on but this is a place I wish I would have bought time share from....

I also had gone here many moons ago & there is nothing at all like this hotel. You get catered to & greeting w/ a pink/white drink & towel to clean your hands. The casitas are built into the mountain & we had our own private pool; they place flowers in the pool every day for you & lay them out on your bed. It's amazing.
They also have their own private pool/lagoon area.
Like someone else said, its definitely NOT Carribean type water, its a rocky coast in most places & the water isn't super blue.
Another super place is Aventura Spa Palace outside Cozymel, another top notch place!
We also saw the cliff divers & hit Carlos & Charlies & some tiny place right on the beach that had the wickest margaritas ever!
