ack! 8 week old and I'm getting sick
what should I do? my eye is red and itchy  I don't even know where I could have caught this! Since sat, I've only left home once to go shopping.... and I never touch my face while in public, and I'm always hand washing 
ugh. I have to nurse and care fopr Eryk.... I guess he's doomed to get sick

do you mean you are getting a cold? just keep trying to wash your hands all the time. my sinuses have been killing me lately and i am just dreading the idea of my son or dh and getting sick with a newborn in the house.
i hope its nothing and you feel better!

actually since you are BFing there is a very good chance he won't get sick - or, if he does, that he will get over it quickly.
just wash your hands a LOT and avoid touching his hands as much as possible (although i am sure you knew that already  )

I'm frankly not sure WHAT it is  but one eye is really red and itchy on the left side, and the other has a small patch of red/itchiness too 
Eryk caught a cold a while ago from DH.... a headcold with lots of congestion. He's only getting over it now. Could it be that mommy is soooo sleep deprived that I actually caught it from Eryk  his eyes were never red, though

It is pink eye? You can get pink eye by changing a poopy diaper and then touching your eye without cleaning your hands properly. Pink eye is caused by fecal matter.  It happens to new parents sometimes because they get so busy that they don't clean their hands enough.

morons that we are, we don't have a GP we regularly go to I could only find an appt for fri afternoon witha random Dr in stony brook!
well, I found a walk-in clinic in miller place that's open until 8pm... I'm going as soon as Oma arrives to take care of Eryk
I never thought I'd look forward to antibiotic eye drops
