activites to do with a 22 month old..

what can i do with DD all day? its getting to cold for random trips out places...but i cant stand being stuck in the house. what do you do? she likes to color and lately ive been filling up the sink and letting her play in water,,,,im looking for fun activities to do that are different any ideas?

See if your library has any programs for her, and if not, go to the library.

Grocery shopping or other random errands

Let her help you clean

Help you bake (she can pour something or mix with the spoon. It's messy though)

Help with yardwork, pick up sticks or leaf removal (yes, they don't help so much, but they feel good thinking they are helping and you can do some work while they are busy)

Go outside a bit unless it's bitter cold and let her run around. I'm still letting DS outside now except on really cold or wet days, or if he's sick.

Buy foam shapes and let her stick them on things (Michaels carries them)

Go to B & N or a bookstore (they have storytimes too)

Listen to music and dance--if you have puppets or stuffed animals that are favorites they can dance too.

Go to a nursery or garden center (especially now, DS loves the decorations)

Buy Play-Doh or make some at home (though I advise skipping the food coloring, it really stains)

Try to do a day trip to the city, LI Children's Museum, or if you are in Suffolk to something closer, maybe the Riverhead Aquarium.

Go to the park (as I said, I still take DS out unless it's bitter cold-this isn't for everyone, but I honestly do not think the cold hurts them as long as they are dressed well)
