activities for 12-18 month olds in Suffolk?
I am looking for places to take DS in Suffolk... zoos, gyms, playgounds, etc - anything! We are trying to keep busy... but we are trying not to spend too much money. Any suggestions?
I know of My Gym in Stony Brook, a petting zoo on Wading River Road in Manorville, a "bounce" place in Center Moriches (i think), Holtsville Ecology Center.
TIA!

Two nice playgrounds for toddlers:
-Diamond in the Pines in Coram (rte 112, just North of 83)
-Heritage Park (Think it's Coram)
Krazy Kids in Medford is a nice playplace. They have coupons online.

What Town are you in?
I am in town of smithtown and there are quite a few parks and beaches! One fave is Hoyt Farm - DS loves the chickens and the sprinkler park!
THe petting Zoo is so worth it! The ENtertainment book has a coupon in it as well! DS is 18 months and had a BLAST when we went there! and its smaller and not as crowded as other places so he really had a chance to get close to the animals!

Re: activities for 12-18 month olds in Suffolk?
There is a playground at the greenbelt recreation center on the corner of greenbelt parkway and patchogue holbrook road (in holbrook/holtsville)
There is a younger play ground, swings and then on the other side of the playground is a big kid playground. This is really good if dc can walk/do a few stairs. They can only go down slides - no fire poles or open drops
not sure if its actually in suffolk - but the cold spring harbor hatchery - small and free but you can feed fish.
Also, rocket ship park in port jeff station - west of the ferry/112, behind some stores. If you go for lunch and a walk around the ferry you'll find it/someone can tell you where it is
when dc was learning to walk, just walking in a park was enough fun for him - he loves to be outside

Krazy Kids in Medford is a nice playplace. They have coupons online. I will have to check out Diamond in the Pines. Heritage Park is on 25A is Mount Sinai. It's a great little park. I take Daniel there and there is a path to walk with him the stroller too.

Diamond in the Pines is awesome! Perfect for toddlers since it's mostly ramps and very low to the ground. We love it there.

The petting zoo we've been to is in Manorville - on Wading River Road a little north of Sunrise Highway. We loved it!

It's a park with a playground, swings, walking trail, baseball diamond and soccer field. Along with a covered pavillion. It's handicapp accessible, so everything is low to the ground.
